Dr Michael le Cordeur achieved a doctorate in education at the University of Stellenbosch and also holds degrees from the University of the Western Cape, UNISA and Stellenbosch Graduate School of Business. His involvement with education stretches from a former language teacher to leadership roles such as high school principal and area manager. His books, accredited articles and papers are widely published. In 2011 he was elected chairperson of the Afrikaans Language Board where he played a pivotal role uniting more than 40 Afrikaans organisations. Dr le Cordeur also holds various other leadership positions He currently lectures Afrikaans Didactics at the University of Stellenbosch and his research deals with the improvement of learners' reading- and writing skills, language and identity.
