Media24 is Africa's leading publishing group and offers information and entertainment 24 hours a day. The group has interests in newspapers, magazines, internet businesses, book publishing, printing plants and distribution companies.
Many of these publications and businesses are award-winning leaders in their respective fields. Media24 also has many international and local sister companies in the media industry through its holding company, Naspers.
Media24's skills development strategy involves both expanding the talent pool for the media industry (through apprenticeships, learnerships, bursaries and internships) and deepening the talent pool within the company (through internal and external training, coaching and mentoring).
How Media24 links into the programme:
The Media24 Rachel's Angels forms part of the Media24's corporate social investment programme and would not have been possible without the support, both financial and in the expertise of its Corporate Communication team, the exposure on its different media platforms and the support of its news, management and directorship teams. Koos Bekker (Executive head of Naspers) co-founded the Media24 Rachel's Angels Trust with Prof Rachel Jafta in 2007 and ever since its inception the trust has enjoyed the support of the media heavy-weight. Naspers and Media24 is the strong foundation on which the trust is built and we are grateful to the organisation for its vote of confidence in our cause and our team.
Schools and mentors that successfully complete the two year cycle receive empowerment shares if they meet all programme requirements – a meaningful head start when they enter the business world.
Thank you to Media24 and all our partners for their dedication to excellence in high school education.
